43rd World Club Fishing Championship on the Sava River

From July 22nd to July 28th, 2024, the Sava River above the Brežice Hydroelectric Power Plant, specifically the Sava 20 section, will host the 43rd World Club Fishing Championship. The main events of the competition will take place over the weekend of July 27th and 28th, 2024, promising a spectacular event full of thrilling moments and exceptional fishing skills.

The championship will attract the best fishing clubs from around the world, competing to catch various fish species in the Sava River. Due to the challenging heat conditions, several key decisions have been made regarding fishing rules:

  • Bait Restrictions: Due to supply issues, the use of "fuji" and "verdevasa" baits will be prohibited for the World Championship.
  • Mandatory Use of Two Nets: Each competitor must use two nets – one for smaller fish and another for fish weighing over 3 kg.
  • Weight Limit for Larger Fish: Any fish weighing more than 3 kg will be recorded as having a maximum weight of 3 kg.
  • Prohibited Baits: The use of shrimp parts, squid, and sardines as bait is banned.
  • Increased Worm Quota: The allowed quantity of worms has been increased from 0.5 liters to 0.75 liters.

These changes aim to ensure fair competition and the safety of both competitors and fish. The organizers look forward to welcoming numerous spectators who will support their favorite teams and enjoy the exciting activities along the Sava River.

Join us at this prestigious event and support the best anglers from around the world. See you on the banks of the Sava River!
