The Slovenian Cultural Holiday is an opportunity not only to commemorate culture, but to truly experience it. This year, on Sunday, 8 February 2026, you are invited to the Posavje Museum Brežice, where the holiday will be marked in an international, creative, and connecting spirit.

At the end of January 2026, a pilot testing of an accessible tourism product for persons with disabilities took place in Brežice and Zaprešić. The product was developed within the cross-border project ENVIRO – Experiencing Sustainable Tourism to Encourage Change, implemented under the Interreg Slovenia–Croatia programme.

Wetlands are the silent guardians of natural balance – often unnoticed, yet vital for the lives of people, plants and animals, and in the fight against climate change.

This year, Brežice will shine for the first time in the spirit of a month-long Advent celebration, filling the old town centre with lights, music, a festive market, an ice rink, and holiday cheer. 

At the Days of Slovenian Tourism, Brežice received two awards.

The longest-running event in the Posavje region, which traditionally brings the old town centre to life, has received the Zero Waste Event title for the third consecutive time.
