The park and its learning trail will surely amaze you, including the children who can play in the playground and recreation lovers who can use exercise equipment and visit a fitness park.
Just a short walk away from Brežice Castle lies a beautiful place to spend hot summer days, the Brežice Town Park. You can find shade under majestic trees in the summer, enjoy the beautiful autumn colours, while in the winter, you can have fun on the snow. In December, the park is particularly interesting, as it is festively decorated.
It includes a short learning path and a children’s playground. The park is also the starting point of the Fairy Tale Walk around Brežice. Since 2013, exercise and outdoor fitness equipment is available at the edge of the park, next to the MC Hostel Brežice.
Under the mighty treetops nearby there stands the Brežice Youth Centre also housing the McB Bar Club. On the wonderful terrace of the club, you can enjoy a cup of coffee and the view of the park.
Historical facts:
The town park you see today was designed by the Attems family in the early 19th century and was owned by the castle until the World War I. It was based on a nearby park in Mokrice, which is reflected in its informal design following the example of English-style parks. As a part of the castle, the park was enclosed, but it was later made available to the locals. In 2010, it was completely renovated.
