Northern Town Gate

The northern town gate from the 16th century was formed as a one-storey stone tower with a trapezoid layout that stretched to the water moat from the outside. The tower had a basement on the northern side, perhaps because of the drawbridge mechanism that connected the northern town gate and a wooden bridge over the moat. The ground plan of the walls and the tower is shown on the pavement.
